Middle School/High School Announcements - 4/29/2024

TODAY IN SPORTS: 

4:15 - Varsity Track - Home - Conference Meet

The softball team split with Evart Friday night winning game one 3-2 and losing game two 3-8. Macy Johnston was the winning pitcher in game one striking out 9. Lauryn Licari went 3 for 3 and Macy had 2 RBI’s. Dakota Dodak took the loss in game two. Emma Block had 4 strikeouts in relief. Emily Taylor went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Madason Fisher and Arryana Brown also each added an RBI.

The varsity baseball team won 2 games Friday night against Evart 15-0 in 5 and 9-1. On game 1 Josh Wilson (2-2) recorded the win throwing a NO hitter, striking out 8. Cayden Smith was 3-4 with an RBI. Josh Wilson was 3-3 with 2 RBIs. Eric Elias was 1-1 with 2 RBIs. Jack Fussman added a double and an RBI. In game 2 Cayden Smith (4-0) got the win, throwing 6 innings, one run and 8 strikeouts. Jake Gauthier was 3-4 with an RBI. Cayden Smith was 2-3 with a double and a triple. The Aggies are now 7-5 and 4-0 in the Highland.

The varsity baseball team won two games against Shepherd on Saturday, 3-2 and 7-6. In game one, Cuyler Smith (1-0) got the win, throwing the last 3 innings and was 2-2 with a walk off base hit to win the game. Josh Wilson had a couple. Lane Gross, Cole Tilmann, Blake Walcutt, Jake Gauthier, Jack Fussman all added hits for the Aggies. In game two, Jack Fussman (1-0) go the win pitching 5 ⅔ innings with 4 runs and 5 strikeouts. Blake Walcutt got the save. Cayden Smith led the offense 2-2 with a home run and 2 RBI’s. Owen McKenny added a hit and 2 RBI’s. Parker Sienkiewicz added a hit and an RBI. The Aggies are now 9-5. Up next, the Aggies are at Roscommon on Tuesday.

Varsity track competed Friday night in a very competitive meet at Clare. The men placed 3rd out of 8 teams in the small school division and the women placed 5th out of 8. Those scoring on the men's side included: Jamisen Latham in the 100, Aaron Locke in the pole-vault and the 1600,  Kylis Fletcher in both shot put and discus, as well as the 4 x 100, 4x200 and 4x400 relays. Those scoring on the women's side were Brianna Locke in the 800, Bryn Gilde in shot put, Avery Wilson in the discus as well as the 4x400 relay. Nice job, everyone! Aggies compete tonight at home in their second conference meet against McBain and Lake City.

Under the Friday night lights at Alma College the middle school boys battled to finish third overall among much larger schools. Braxton took first in long jump, Grady and Dylan scored valuable points in 200 hurdles and Weston grabbed a PR and medal in pole vault. Notable relay splints include Collin, Jarett, Owen and Landyn who all helped boost their team points. Lastly, Logan PRd in the mile, running an incredibly tough race. 

Tutoring today will be held in Ms. Gohs room staring at 3:00.

The annual walk-a-thon is this Friday during 4th hour. Students who get a minimum $10 pledge can participate. All money raised goes to support Mental Health America. Please remember to bring in your money and signed pamphlet to your 3rd hour teachers on Friday.

Middle school students: If you have detention time that needs to be served, you must do so prior to your upcoming field trips or you will not be allowed to attend.

Seniors: Please fill out the google form for the final round of mock elections. Deadline to submit your vote is May 3rd. Also, Roger Hagerman will be taking special photos at graduation again this year.  If you are interested, the cost is $30. Please pay Diane prior to May 23rd if you are interested.  Checks can be made payable to Roger Hagerman.
