How Does An Early College Work?
Beal City High Schoolers Will Take College Coursework While Attending High School To Work Toward Earning An Associate's Degree. They Would Attend High School For A Fifth Year, During Which Time They Would Complete One High School Requirement And Take A Full Load Of College Coursework At MMC.
After Completing The Fifth Year, Participants Will Have Earned Their High School Diplomas And A Substantial Amount Of College Credits. Students Will Have The Opportunity To Earn An Associate's Degree From MMC (60+ Transferable College Credits, Which Is A Two-year Degree).
Can Anyone Be An Early College Student?
In Order To Ensure That Early College Students Succeed, Participants Will Be Selected Based On College Readiness Measures And Their Indicated Dedication To Program Completion.
Where Are College Classes Taken For Early College?
Wherever Students Schedule Them— At MMC's Mt. Pleasant Or Harrison Campuses, Or Even Online. Early College Students Will Work With A High School Counselor And An MMC Advisor To Develop A Schedule Each Semester That Works For Them.
Students Be Involved In Extracurricular Activities?
Yes. During Their 11th And 12th Grade Years.
Can Early College Students Participate In Graduation?
Yes, Early College Students Will Participate In High School Graduation Ceremonies During Their 12th Grade Year.
