Jr./Sr. High School: Organizations: FFA

FFA Officer Team

2008-2009

by Kristin Wilson

2008-2009 President Monica Atkin - Senior

I love being in FFA because of the opportunities you have to excel in leadership, get scholarships and meet new people.

I am also currently involved in several other extra-curricular activities such as, 4-H and the Youth Advisory Committee.

2008-2009 Vice President Megan McBride - Senior

I enjoy the FFA because it has many different opportunities that are available. Not only am I able to learn about agriculture and develop leadership, I can also take part in competitions and earn scholarships. FFA has also given me the opportunity to travel to many conferences where we all make amazing friends.

Some other activities I am involved in are 4-H, Youth in Government, National Honors Society, Cheerleading, Jazz Band and Drama.

One thing I love about the FFA is all the people you meet from all over Michigan and all over the U.S. FFA gives you so many opportunities to get to know other people and allows you to know yourself a little better. In this organization you learn so much about how other schools are making a difference to help agriculture. FFA can also give you a chance to take part in a bigger picture and go out of state to experience what FFA is really about.

I have been in FFA since I was a freshman and have held three different officer positions. I am also involved in Varsity Volleyball and Drama.

2008-2009 Treasurer Chad Arndt - Junior

FFA is so fun. We get to hang out with friends and work with animals. I also have the opportunities that I wouldn’t have if I wasn’t a proud FFA member. It is fun and I always get picked on because I am the only guy on the officer team.

I am also involved in Drama, Band and the National Honors Society.

2008-2009 Sentinel Dusty Mogg - Sophomore

I love FFA because we have the opportunity to go on fun trips. This is my second year in FFA and will be my first year showing rabbits at the fair for the FFA. I also show pigs and have done it for two years.

2008-2009 Secretary and V.P. PALS Mina Tilmann - Sophomore

I love being in FFA because it’s a lot of fun and we get to meet a lot of new people.

I am currently working at Cool Dip. I can be responsible and show that I can be trusted and be a hard worker.

I first became involved in the FFA when I was a freshman in High School. Through the FFA, I have had the opportunity to become a better leader and to make many lasting friendships. FFA also led me to my career as an Agriscience Teacher, and those are just a few reasons why I love the FFA
