Middle School/High School Announcements - 5/6/2024

 

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KELSEY FLETCHER! WE HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY!

This week we are happy to celebrate “Teacher Appreciation Week”.  Beal City Public Schools is fortunate to employ some of the most dedicated, hard-working, innovative teachers in the state. We thank them this week, and every week, for all they do for the students at BCPS!  We truly appreciate all of you!

We would like to welcome back Mrs. Jorgensen from her recent maternity leave! You were greatly missed, Mrs. J and we hope you have a smooth return to school.  

Friday night the varsity track teams competed at a very competitive invitational in Big Rapids. The men scored 41 points and the women scored 61. 5 points against 7 other schools. Those bringing home medals for the men include: Neil Finnerty-5th in 400, Aaron Locke-5th in pole vault.  Aaron was also 2nd in the 800m run, breaking a new school record with a time of 2:01.92! The 4 x 400 (Jamisen Latham, Landon Davis, Neil Finnerty, Aaron Locke) was 3rd and the 4 x 800 (Drake Gatrell, Eli Zeien, Conner Fenton, Austin Gross) was 4th, also bringing home medals. Those bringing home medals for the women include: Bree Locke-5th the 800, Bryn Gilde-3rd in shot put, Mya Scully-tied for 3rd in high jump, Jaylyn Sisco-5th in discus, Bri Stack-4th in discus, Avery Wilson won discus with an awesome throw and personal best of 104'9. The 4x400 (Johanna Hubble, Eden Strong, Molly Trommater, Brianna Locke)   Placing 3rd also bringing home medals. The Aggies will compete again tomorrow night in their third conference jamboree here at home.

NHS would like to extend a huge thank you to the students, staff, and community who helped us raise over $3,000 on Friday to donate to Mental Health America!

All MS track kids please meet in the main lobby in front of the Big Gym at noon, after you have finished lunch

Detention today will be in the computer lab starting at 3:00.  There will no tutoring today. 

It’s time to sign up for Mock Rock!  Get your group together and start working on your choreography! 9th-12th grade students can participate in in this event which is held on the senior’s last day of school which is May 16th.  Sign up sheet is in the office. 

Our hard-working Aggie Sports Boosters are in need of help in the concession stand. If you are a high school student in need of community service hours, please see Diane for details on how to sign up!

Seniors: Roger Hagerman will be taking special photos at graduation again this year.  If you are interested, the cost is $30. Please pay Diane prior to May 23rd if you are interested.  Checks can be made payable to Roger Hagerman.
