Middle School/High School Announcements - 4/23/2024

 

TODAY IN SPORTS: 

4:15 - Varsity Baseball & Softball - Home against Pine River 

Last night the varsity track teams competed in their first conference jamboree at home against Evart and Houghton Lake. The men's team beat Houghton Lake 106 to 33 and they also beat Evart 125 to 11, winning 14 out of 17 events. Individuals who won their events include: Jamisen Latham-100 & 200, Landon Davis-400, Aaron Locke-1600 & pole-vault, Conner Fenton-3200, Avery Small-110 hurdles & 300 hurdles, and Kylis Fletcher shot put & discus. All 4 relay teams also won. The women's team won both of their dual meets as well.  They scored 124 points to Houghton Lake's 33. They also beat Evart 132 to 18. Individual winners include: Brianna Locke-800, Nolee Leppert-1600, Lilly Leppert-3200, Mya Scully-long jump, Olivia Kunik-polevault and Bryn Gilde-shotput & discus. They won all four of the relays as well. Fantastic job to both teams!  They will  compete again this Friday in Clare.

The softball team split with SHA last night winning game one 16-6 and losing game two 16-23. Dakota Dodak was the winning pitcher in game one striking out 7. Eva Lynch went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s and a home run. Emily Taylor had 5 RBI’s and Aubrey Thielen went 4 for 4. Dakota took the loss in the circle in game two. Emily was 4 for 4 with 2 home runs, Aubrey had her first high school home run, and Lauren Licari had 3 hits.

The varsity baseball team split with Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart last night, losing game one, 15-1 in 5 innings and winning game two 5-3 in 5 innings. In game one, Blake Walcutt (0-1) took the loss. Owen McKenny and Josh Wilson both had hits.  In game two, Lane Gross (1-1) recorded the win, throwing 3 ⅔ innings with 3 runs and 3 strikeouts. owen McKenny got the save. Cayden Smith was 3-4 with 2 runs. Josh Wilson was 2-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Lane Gross was 2-3 with a double. The Aggies are now 3-5 and open up Highland Conference play tonight against Pine River at 4:15. 

GSA meeting today after school in the art room. 

This Friday, April 26th is “Drive your tractor to school day”! If you are of legal age and have access to a tractor, you are allowed to drive it to school on the 26th. Please park in the south west area of the parking lot.

Seniors: Please get your baby picture, senior picture and plans for after school to Dylan Elias or Mr. Hoeberling ASAP!

Seniors: You can now pick up your cap and gown from Diane in the office! Stop in before school, during passing time or at lunch. Please take your gown out of the bag to make sure it is the right size. If there are any issues with the cap or gown, please let Mrs. Millerov know ASAP.

Seniors: There is a special promotion happening now regarding your FASFA. If you complete your FASFA before May 1st, and show Mrs. Millerov your confirmation email, you will be treated to Olive Garden for lunch on May 2nd! See Mrs. Millerov with any questions.

Prom tickets are on sale now. Please see Mrs. Vessel to purchase your ticket. Cost is $25 per person. Prom will be held May 4th from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Little Flower Barn in Lake Isabella.  If you plan to bring a guest from another school (or an underclassmen), please see Diane in the office for a guest pass.  Passes are due this Friday, April 26th.
