Middle School/High School Announcements - 4/16/24

TODAY IN SPORTS:

4:00 - Varsity Softball - Home against Gladwin

4:00 - JV Baseball - away against. Mt. Pleasant - Vans depart at 2:40

The varsity baseball team split with Charlevoix last night, winning game one 6-2 and losing game two, 3-2. In game one, Cayden Smith (2-0) got the win in 7 innings with 2 hits, 2 runs and 12 strikeouts. Josh Wilson, Cayden Smith and Owen McKenny all hit home runs for the Aggies. Bennett Gilde had two hits and 1 RBI. Jake Gauthier went 2-3.  In game two, Josh Wilson (0-2) took the loss in 7 innings with 3 runs, 1 earned and 5 strikeouts. Ryan Bushong had a hit and Josh Wilson added a double.  The Aggies are now 2-3. Up next is Clare at home on Thursday. 

Seniors: Please get your baby picture, senior picture and plans for after school to Dylan Elias or Mr. Hoeberling ASAP!

GSA meeting today after school in the art room. 

The Spanish club is reducing the price of their awesome bracelets to $5! See Senora if you are interested!

Report cards are going home this week. Your second hour teacher will hand them out to you today or tomorrow.

Detention today will be held in Ms. Eddy’s room and tutoring is in the computer lab.  Both begin at 3:00. 

Our awesome Aggie Band members are participating in a great fundraiser right now.  For every ticket that is purchased for their home game for Friday, April 19th, the Loons will donate $5 to our band program. A special QR code must be used to purchase the ticket.  See Diane for the code.

Seniors: There is a special promotion happening now regarding your FASFA. If you complete your FASFA before May 1st, and show Mrs. Millerov your confirmation email, you will be treated to Olive Garden for lunch on May 2nd! See Mrs. Millerov with any questions.

The CMU women’s basketball program is hosting a youth camp this summer. June 7th from 9:00-3:00 p.m for boys and girls ages 7-14. Cost is $75 per person. Register at kristinhayniebasketball.totalcampus.com. 

Registration for middle school softball is still open.  Any students interested in signing up for softball can do so at bealcitylittleleague.com.  Middle school softball will not conflict if you are currently participating in track as the season does not start until June. 

The GI-Tech Center is hosting their summer camps again this year on June 10th-13th from 9:00 a.m. - noon.  Registration is free and is open to students currently in grades 6-8. Deadline to sign up is May 17th. Students can get hand-on experience in the areas of digital media, marketing, graphic design, small engines and more!  Space is limited.  See Diane in the office for more information on how to register.

Articles for the May Aggie Express should be sent to Carrie at cbleise@bealcityschools.net by Wednesday, April 17th.   

Permission slips for the 7th grade field trip to the tech center are due to Mrs. Vessel by Friday April 19th.

Prom tickets are on sale now. Please see Mrs. Vessel to purchase your ticket. Cost is $25 per person. Prom will be held May 4th from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Little Flower Barn in Lake Isabella.  If you plan to bring a guest from another school (or an underclassmen), please see Diane in the office for a guest pass.  Passes are due Friday, April 26th.
