The Aggie Cafe teaching cooking skills to our Seniors
The Aggie Cafe partnered with Teri Karcher from Acosta Foods, Carl Hopp and Brian Courser from Gordon Food Service, to teach a cooking portion to our students in Life Skills Class. We cooked a chicken fettuccine alfredo with sauteed vegetables. We demonstrated how to use a knife, saute vegetables, cook fettuccine noodles to al dente, cook chicken to the proper temperature and the alfredo sauce. We talked about the do’s and don'ts, how to cook with safety in mind and that it can be fun. This was such a positive experience for all of us. Thank you to my staff, Teri, Carl and Brian for volunteering their time and products to expand our students knowledge as they get set to step out on their own.
