Congratulations, Nick Freeze!
Governor Nick Freeze
Nicholas Freeze has been a member of Michigan Youth in Government for five years. Throughout his participation in YIG, Nick has held leadership positions for the last four years as Speaker of the House (twice), Lt. Governor, and committee chair. In the fall of 2016, Nick began his campaign to run for the position of youth governor for the MYIG program. After winning the primaries in October, Nick became one of three Governor Candidates at the 2017 spring conference. Nick ran a campaign that demonstrated his exemplary character and his love for the program. On March 1, 2017 Nick was elected the 2017-2018 MYIG Governor for Michigan. His responsibilities will include attending a leadership conference in D.C., attending the Conference on National Affairs in D.C. and North Carolina, serving as governor at the spring conference his senior year, as well as many other speaking engagements and MYIG events. Nick has earned this honored position and will most certainly represent not only the MYIG program well, but our school and community with honor and distinction.
