Water Quality Precautions

Student, Staff, Parents, and community members,

Beal City Public Schools is required to do annual testing of our water here on campus. On Thursday afternoon the DEQ called and shared the results of the samples we sent in to the state.  All samples were fine except one for metals, so we are required to put precautions in place, such as having water coolers for drinking water and put signs up and turn off our drinking fountains, which we have done. We will now retest the water to find out if there is a problem or if it was a false positive result. This only effects the new High School wing of the building from the Secondary office to the Superintendent’s office, as the rest of the building is run off of another well which is fine. If it was a false positive result, everything will go back to normal early next week when the test results come back. If there is a problem, we will work with the DEQ and the Health department to solve the issue as fast as we can. Again, this only effects the drinking water in a small area of the building. We have put these precautions in place, hoping not to inconvenience anyone. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Superintendents’ office at 989-644-3901. Thanks you for your continued support of Beal City Public Schools.

William C. Chilman IV, Superintendent
