On this Day in History:

49 years ago, in 1867, Alfred Nobel invented Dynamite.  He later went on and founded the Nobel Peace Prize.

Here’s a random Science Facts for today:

If humans came in as many sizes as dogs, we'd range from three to eighteen feet tall.

Your Character Counts at Beal City:

The Pillar of the Week is Responsibility, our third Pillar of Character, represented by the color green. When you think about  responsibility, think about being responsible for a green garden.

Ethical people show responsibility by being accountable. An accountable person is not a victim and doesn’t shift blame or claim credit for the work of others. He considers the likely consequences of his behavior and associations. He recognizes the common complicity in the triumph of evil when nothing is done to stop it. He leads by example.

According to Potter Stewart, American Judge, "Ethics is knowing the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do."

Always Remember Safety First!

  • Playground safety is important!
  • Also remember to always walk and use quiet voices in the hallways.

This concludes today’s announcements.

Now stand and recite as a class the Pledge of Alliance and our School Creed,

and remember; “Make good choices today, that choice is yours.”
