Art Reach Chair Affair

Art Reach of Mid-Michigan is sponsoring a Chair Affair in downtown Mt. Pleasant this summer. Local artist and students have been invited to participate by using their creative energies to turn an Adirondack style chair into a work of art. Chairs were built by Mr. Doug Sickles' students at the Mt. Pleasant Tech Center. Advanced Art student Katie Gross's design was selected from nearly two dozen designs created by Mrs Cleveland's art classes at Beal City High School. The chairs will be on display in downtown Mt Pleasant on Broadway, University and Main St. from June 16-July 26. The chairs will be judged by one person representing each of the four sponsors of the event; First Bank, Isabella Bank, National City Bank and Northwestern Mutual. The public can vote for a "Peoples Choice" award at Art Reach on Broadway from June 18-July 25. Winners will be announced July 26.
Chairs will be sold at a silent auction held throughout the event at Art Reach on Broadway. Proceeds will be used to provide scholarships to children for Art Reach Classes. Congratulations Katie!!
